Vicky Ostwal

Royal Challengers Bangalore
Bowler
Slow left-arm orthodox 23 yrs.

Growing up in Lonavala, Vicky Ostwal regularly travelled long distances to pursue better cricketing opportunities, first heading to Mumbai to train at the Vengsarkar Academy before eventually shifting his base to Maharashtra cricket. A left-arm finger spinner, he made daily commutes to Pune, where he continued to develop his game and lay the foundation for his professional career.

He first came into the national spotlight during India’s victorious 2022 Under-19 World Cup campaign, finishing as the team’s leading wicket-taker. The performances fast-tracked him into Maharashtra’s Ranji Trophy setup, where he gradually adapted to the demands of red-ball cricket and began evolving into a more rounded bowler.

A major step forward came in the 2024-25 CK Nayudu Trophy, where Ostwal enjoyed a standout season, finishing with 69 wickets. His consistency and impact were recognised at the BCCI Awards in 2026. As his career has progressed, Ostwal has also worked on his batting, adding value as a lower-order contributor and pushing towards becoming a more complete allround option.

While opportunities in the playing XI didn’t come during his three seasons with Delhi Capitals in the IPL, he used the experience to learn from senior players and coaches. That growth and potential were rewarded at the IPL auction for the 2026 edition, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured his services.
