Dean Foxcroft

New Zealand
All Rounder
Right Handed & Off break 27 yrs.

Dean Foxcroft, born on April 20, 1998, in Pretoria, South Africa, is a talented cricketer representing New Zealand in international cricket. Known for his ability as a powerful middle-order batter and a handy off-spin bowler, Foxcroft's journey to the international stage is a story of resilience and determination.

He first gained attention when he represented South Africa in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. After moving to New Zealand, he made an immediate impact in domestic cricket. His List A debut came during the 2018-19 Ford Trophy, followed by his first-class debut in the Plunket Shield the same season, where he impressed with his steady batting performances. Later that year, he showcased his T20 skills in the Super Smash, displaying a remarkable ability to adapt across formats.

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 challenged Foxcroft's career by keeping him out of the team in South Africa. Border restrictions prevented him from returning to New Zealand, sidelining him for two consecutive domestic seasons. Despite these setbacks, Foxcroft maintained his focus and continued to refine his game. His hard work paid off when, in 2023, he earned a maiden call-up to the New Zealand A team and later made his international debut. His T20I debut against the UAE was followed by his ODI debut in September 2023 against Bangladesh, marking a new chapter in his career.

Foxcroft has proven to be a valuable asset for Otago in New Zealand's domestic circuit. In the 2022-23 season, he was named Domestic Player of the Year, thanks to his stellar performances. In a bid to focus on his personal game and family, Foxcroft stepped down from the captaincy at Otago ahead of the 2024-25 season.
